Guadalupe Benavides

Guadalupe (Tijerina) Benavides, 80, of Beeville, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 24, 2019.

Mrs. Benavides was born March 10, 1939, in Goliad, Texas, to Alfredo and Grabiela (Castro) Tijerina. She was a housewife and member of the Catholic faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Benito G. Benavides; a brother, Tomas Castro; and a grandson, Robert Ruiz Castilla.

Survivors include her children, Martha "Martina" Garcia, Dora A. (Ernest) Rincon, Benny (Alma) Benvides Jr. and Jorge (Lucy) Benavides, all of Beeville, Teresa B. (Clifford) Hicks of Runge, Consuelo (Annette) Benavides-Martinez of Gatesville and Enriques Mata of Bryan; siblings, Alfredo (Lila) Tijerina and Grabiela "Nena" Tijerina, both of Beeville, and Humberto Tijerina of Berclair; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Angelus Funeral Home Chapel in Beeville, Texas.

The funeral service will be conducted there at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2019, with Deacon Santos Jones officiating.

Burial will follow at San Jacinto Cemetery on Riverdale in Berclair. Texas.

Pallbearers will be Jorge Benavides, Benny Benavides, Abel Ruiz, Henry Enriquez Mata, Joe Reyes and Ernest Rincon.

Honorary pallbearers will be Antonio Mata and Garrett Benavides.
