Armando Gomez

Armando Perez Gomez, 74, of Beeville, Texas, was called home by his heavenly Father the morning of Monday, May 10, 2021.

Mando, as he was known by so many, was born April 30, 1947 to Evangelina (Perez) Gomez and Antonio Gomez Sr. in Beeville. He obtained an associate’s degree from Bee County College and was employed as an HVAC technician with Coastal Bend College. He married Mary Esther Brionez on June 26, 1982 in Beeville. He was a founding member of New Hope Christian Church as well as senior trustee and president of the Men’s Ministry for numerous years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio Gomez Sr. and Evangelina “Eva” Gomez; his eldest brother, Antonio Gomez Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Norma Gomez.

Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Mary Esther (Brionez) Gomez of Beeville; his children, Armando (Linda) Gomez Jr. of Portland, Veronica Gomez and Angela Gomez, both of Sinton and Jacob A. (Cynthia) Gomez of San Antonio; three brothers, Alfredo (Judy) Gomez and Arturo (Susan) Gomez, both of Corpus Christi, and Arnold (Leticia) Gomez of Portland; one sister, Alicia (George) Brown of Beeville; his parents-in-law, Riley and Mary Brionez; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 12 at New Hope Christian Church with a prayer service at 7 o’clock.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 13, at New Hope Christian Church with Rev. Salvador P. Rincon Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Beeville Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Jason Gomez, Tristan Cancino, Aaron Gomez, Israel Brionez, Jr., Jason Perez and Jason Gallagher.
