Teodora "Dora" (Garcia) Gonzales, age 89, of Skidmore, Texas passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love and family.
Dora was born in Skidmore to Eliseo Garcia and Florentina (Villarreal) Garcia on November 9, 1936. She was a devout Catholic and a member of Immaculate Conception Church of Skidmore. Many knew her as "Wella." She was known for her kind heart and generous spirit. Her family was everything to her and she took great pride in keeping her family close.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved son, Paul Gonzales, Jr. and granddaughter Eloisa Mae Vaughn.
Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Pablo Gonzales Sr.; her three children, Raynaldo (Ester) Gonzales, Maria Florentina "Tina" Casarez and Daniel (Becky) Gonzales. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, Dora Lisa Gonzales-Henkhaus, Juanita Groothoff, Paul (Elizabeth) Gonzales III, Santiago "Jimmy" Casarez, Raynaldo (Jolie) Gonzales Jr., Marc Casarez, Roberto (Kimberly) Gonzales, Linda Gonzales (Dylan), Adan Gonzales, Javier Casarez (Rose), Cindi (John) Ramirez; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2025, at Angelus Funeral Home in Beeville with a Rosary to be recited at 10 a.m.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 o’clock that morning at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Skidmore with Father John Ouellette officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore.
Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Gonzales III, Adan Gonzales, Raynaldo Gonzales, Jr., Roberto Gonzales, Marc Casarez and John Ramirez.
Honorary pallbearers will be Santiago "Jimmy" Casarez, Javier Casarez, Dora Lisa Gonzales-Henkhaus, Juanita Groothoff, Eloisa Mae Vaughn, Linda Gonzales and Cindi Ramirez.
Dora will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her strength, faith and devotion to her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank and extend gratitude to the staff of Hacienda Oaks Nursing and Rehab of Beeville and New Century Hospice for their compassionate and reassuring care. They would also like to thank Father John Ouellette.
