Soveida Cardenas

Soveida (Perez) Cardenas, 75, of Corpus Christi, died Thursday, May 30, 2013. Mrs. Cardenas was born Sept. 22, 1937, in Beeville to Luciano and Antonia Perez. She married Pablo T. Garza in Beeville and was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic church and the Guadalupanas. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Pablo T. Garza; two grandsons, Kelly Garza and Joe Ray Lopez; brother, Margarito Perez; and three sisters, Genoveva Garcia, Isabel Torres and Romana Garcia. Survivors include her children, Mary Ann (Richard) Garcia, Dominga (Ricardo) Moron and Ramona (Ysidro) Carabajal, all of Beeville, Pablo (Juanita) Garza Jr. of Pearsall and Sara Gomez of Corpus Christi; a brother, Ysidro Perez of Houston; 21 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 30, at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 1, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Richard Gonzales officiating. Burial will follow in the Ross Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jessie Garza, Alfredo Benavidez, Chris Garza, Jeremiah Munoz, Juan R. Moron, Carlos Moron, Alfredo Ray Benavidez Jr. and Mario DeLeon. Honorary pallbearers will be Carlos Mellado, Daren Benavidez, Gage Alamayuer, Richard Garcia, Ricky Moron, Ysidro Carabajal and Joshua Rodriguez. Angelus Funeral Home
