Sherry Garza

Sherry Lynn "Sissy" (McBride) Garza, 57, of Tuleta, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013. Mrs. Garza was born Feb. 16, 1956, in Port Lavaca to Eva Meitzler and Bill McBride. She married Simon Lopez Garza and was a home health provider and a Catholic. She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, crossword puzzles and reading. She was preceded in death by her father and a son, Shane Michael McBride. Survivors include her husband, Simon Lopez Garza of Beeville; three children, Shawn McBride, Patrick (Anamarie) Garza and Valentin Garza, all of Beeville; her mother, Eva "Nanny" Meitzler of Port Lavaca; two sisters, Diane Boyd of Houston and Debbie Stamp of Corpus Christi; two brothers, Ricky Meitzler and Emmitt Meitzler, both of Port O'Connor; five grandchildren, Shawn, Nathaniel, Adam, Patrick Jr. and Arianna; 17 step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 15, from 2 to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited there at 7 o'clock that evening. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Dec. 16, at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial will follow in Tuleta Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Patrick Garza, Shawn McBride, Valentin Garza, Ruben Garza, Vincent Garza, Simon Garza and Cornelio Garza. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Garza, Ruben Garza Jr., Matthew Garza, Aaron Garza and Jonathon Garza. Angelus Funeral Home
