Norma Alaniz

Norma (Luna) Alaniz, 58, of Beeville, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015. Ms. Alaniz was born March 23, 1957, in Beeville to Clara (Rios) and Valentin Luna Sr. She was a 1976 graduate of A.C. Jones High School and was a teacher's assistant and physical education coach at Thomas Jefferson Intermediate School. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and St. James Faith Choir. She was preceded in death by her father, Valentin Luna Sr. Survivors include her mother, Clara Luna of Beeville; children, Clarissa Angelica (Ricardo Jr.) Mendez and Lionel Alaniz Jr., both of Beeville, Maria Isabel (Donald) Gilstrap of Fort Worth and Yvonne Ashley (Nicholas) Martinez of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Lincoln Isaiah, Christopher Ramon, Trinity Elise and Tyndall Ray; siblings, Valentin Luna Jr. of Seguin, Erma (Benancio) Puente and Hector (Kristy) Luna, both of San Antonio, Oscar Luna of Beeville, Diana (Mike) Alvarado of Austin and Daniel (Cindy) Luna of League City; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, April 10, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 11, at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Father Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Musical selections will be provided by the St. James Faith Choir. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Valentin Luna Jr., Oscar Luna, Daniel Luna, Hector Luna, Valentin Luna III and Donald Gilstrap. Angelus Funeral Home
