Nazario "Wally" E. Camacho

Nazario “Wally” Elizalde Camacho,75, passed away on May 24, 2024 in Beeville, Texas.

Nazario was born in George West on October 20, 1948, to Cleofas Camacho and Thomasa (Elizalde) Camacho. Wally was a simple man of the Catholic faith, who proudly served in the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War. His daughter and granddaughter were his world and he loved to spoil them. His favorite pastime activities were watching old westerns and military shows but most of all hanging out with his brothers and buddies drinking beer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleofas and Thomasita Camacho; two brothers, Ernesto Camacho and Thomas Camacho, Sr.; and a sister, Hermalinda Arredondo.

Left behind to cherish fond memories include his beloved daughter, Casey Camacho; two grandchildren, Mayze Merlo and Daniel Israel Merlo; two brothers, Jose Camacho and Santiago “JC” Camacho all of Beeville, Texas; and a sister, Gloria Martinez of Chandler, Arizona.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, at Angelus Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7 o’clock.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 30, at Angelus Funeral Home, with Deacon Roger Rosenbaum officiating.

 Burial will follow in Beeville Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Israel Merlo, Thomas Camacho Jr., John Daniel Camacho, Michael Camacho, Jay Camacho, Jamie Moron, Justin Martinez, and Jonathon Merlo.

Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Anthony Merlo, Erik Merlo, and Marco Garcia.
