Marvin Dove

Marvin Lee Dove, 73, of Beeville, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015. Mr. Dove was born Dec. 14, 1942, in Beeville to Dorothy Lee (Davis) and John Marvin Dove. He served in the U.S. Army and married Tyra Brown on Sept. 5, 1964, in Ft. Polk, Louisiana. He worked in the oil and gas field and was a member of New Life Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Tyra Dove of Beeville; four daughters, La Shawn (Marcos) Torres and Tyrina (Todd) Moore, both of Beeville, Tiffany (Moses Gonzalez) Dove of San Antonio and Yda Garza Aguilar of Seguin; five grandchildren, Kandis Torres, Ryan Torres, Tristian Moore, Tierra Moore and Tykira Moore; one great-grandchild; Reyton Torres. a sister, Nancy Mettlach of Edna; and a brother, Gregory Dove of Mt. Vernon. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Angelus Funeral Home. The funeral service was conducted at New Life Baptist Church Sunday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jesse Berthold officiating. Burial followed at Beeville Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Marcos Torres, Todd Moore, Ryan Torres, Mel McMullen, Josh Singleton, Wayne Green, Mark Moore,Joe Rivas and Jace Mettlach. Honorary pallbearers were Deyton Torres and Moses Gonzalez.
