Lupe Ramirez, 89, of Beeville, Texas, passed away on March 5, 2026, twenty days shy of his 90th birthday at Christus Sphon Shoreline in Corpus Christi.
Lupe was born on March 25, 1936, in Mathis, Texas, to Jose M. Ramirez and Andrea (Perez) Ramirez. He was of the Pentecostal faith; this faith guided him through life and provided strength during his most challenging moments.
Lupe was known for being a jack of all trades, demonstrating skill and determination in whatever endeavors he pursued. He had a passion for fishing, a hobby that brought him much joy and relaxation in the company of family and friends. His strong work ethic as a heavy equipment operator exemplified his commitment to providing for his loved ones. Lupe was affectionately known as the "favorite uncle" to many nieces and nephews, who will always hold him in their hearts. Above all Lupe was a loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents, the mother of his children, Aurora Castillo Ramirez; his second wife, Nelly Ramirez; his son, Lupe Ramirez Jr.; and his siblings, Jesus Ramirez, Sofia Garrido, Corina Moreno, Salome Ramirez, Rafael De La Torre, and Patricio Ramirez.
He is survived by his children, Lydia Torres, Lucia Dusek, Andrea Ramirez, Patricio Ramirez, Isaiah Guadalupe Ramirez, and Angie Ramirez. Additionally, he leaves behind a significantly large family that includes fifteen grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Angelus Funeral Home, followed by a chapel service at 12 o’clock. Burial will follow at the San Pedro Cemetery in Clareville.
Lupe was the middle child among seven siblings and the last of his brothers and sisters. He led a life rich in love and dedication, leaving behind a legacy that will be fondly remembered by many.
