Juan Arteaga, 71, passed away peacefully at his home in Beeville, Texas on Monday, June 9, 2025, lovingly surrounded by his family.

Juan was born August 28, 1953, in Refugio, Texas to Dolores (Anzaldua) Arteaga and Santiago Arteaga Sr. After graduation from Refugio High School, Juan went on to serve his country honorably in the U.S. Army, where he also began his career as a truck driver. He married the love of his life, Cynthia Camareno, on May 31, 2003, at the Maranatha Church of God in Beeville where he was a faithful member.

Juan was a man of unwavering kindness and integrity. His love for others truly defined him. He always placed the needs of others ahead of his own, embodying a spirit of generosity that touched the hearts of those around him. He loved to help his community, church and family and will be fondly remembered and missed by all his family, his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as his friends.

Juan was preceded in death by his parents, Dolores Alvarado and Santiago Arteaga Sr.; and four brothers, Larry Anzaldua, Carlos Gonzales, Santiago “Jimmy” Artiaga Jr. and Miguel Artiaga.

Left behind to cherish fond memories include his wife of 33 years, Cynthia (Camareno) Arteaga; three sons, Juan Miguel (Monica) Artiaga, Juan Marcos (Michelle) Artiaga and Robert (Maria) Coronado Jr., two daughters, Crystal Coronado and Cyra (Zachary) Rojas. He was also blessed with 22 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren who will miss their “Popo” dearly. In addition, he is survived by numerous other family members and an abundance of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at Angelus Funeral Home with military honors to be rendered at 2 o’clock that afternoon.

Visitation will continue until 6 p.m. at which time the funeral service will begin with Rev. Ben Drewry officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Jasmyn Arteaga, Jason Arteaga, Nickaylen Arteaga, Heaven Arteaga, Neveah Arteaga, Gabriella Artiaga, Yazmine Artiaga, Zane Artiaga, Bethany Artiaga, Declan Artiaga, Brittany Coronado, Alyssa Coronado, Robert Coronado III, Ryan Coronado, Royce Coronado, Inacio Vasquez, Isaias Vasquez, Darielle Vasquez, Adalyn Rojas, Zakaeus Rojas, Zekieal Rojas and Zebryn Rojas; and his niece, Nicole Artiaga.
