Jose Martinez

Jose G. Martinez, 67, of Worthington, Minn., formerly of Skidmore, died Sunday, March 18, 2012. Mr. Martinez was born Aug. 19, 1944, in San Juan to Petra (Garcia) and Domingo Martinez Sr. He married Mickey Flores in Skidmore on Sept. 10, 1966, and was custodian for Skidmore ISD. He was a Catholic. He was preceded in death by his father, Domingo Martinez Sr.; two brothers, Jose Angel Martinez and Jesus "Chuy" Martinez; and a sister, Jacqueline "Jackie" Martinez Franco. Survivors include his wife, Mickey Martinez of Worthington, Minn.; his mother, Petra Martinez of Skidmore; three sons, Larry (Cheryl) Martinez, Luis Miguel Trejo and Armando Morales Jr., all of Worthington, Minn.; five daughters, Yolanda Martinez, Irene (Armando) Morales, Anjelica Lee Morales, Johanna Contreras and Jessica Hernandez, all of Worthington, Minn.; a brother, Domingo (Bertha) Martinez Jr. of Skidmore; and two sisters, Josefina Martinez of McAllen and Janie Godines of Alice. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at Angelus Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited there that evening at 7 o'clock. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, at Immaculate Conception Church in Skidmore with Rev. Sebastian Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
