Obituary

Ernestina Aggari Tagal, 93, of Beeville, Texas, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2026, in Victoria surrounded by her loving family.

Ernestina was born on August 4, 1936, in Naguilian, Isabela, Philippines, to Benita Marinduque and Alberto Aggari. On October 29, 1955, she married her husband, Lazaro Tagal Sr., in the Philippines. Together, they shared 67 beautiful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.

Ernestina was a devoted homemaker and a wonderful mother who found great joy in caring for her family. She had a special love for gardening, taking pride in growing and tending to her plants, and she was also known for her love of cooking. Her home was a place of warmth and comfort, where family and loved ones could always feel welcome.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lazaro Tagal Sr.; her parents, Benita Marinduque and Alberto Aggari; siblings; daughter, Nenita Tagal; and daughter-in-law, Edna Tagal.

Survivors include three daughters, Felicidad (Thomas) Smith, Assumption (Marlon) Monterubio, and Rosalia (Freddie) Baldovino; three sons, Francisco Tagal, Lazaro (Elena) Tagal Jr., and Vicente (Nora) Tagal; 20 grandchildren; several great and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2026, at Angelus Funeral Home in Beeville with a Rosary to be recited at 7 o’clock.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Beeville with Father Pete Elizardo officiating.

Interment will follow at Beeville Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Smith Jr., Lazaro Smith, Jhan Baldovino, Joshua Baldovino, Alvin Tagal and Ariel Tagal.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tammy Smith, Angelica Tagal, Analiza Tagal, Abegail Tagal, Ashley Smith, Victoria Smith, Charles Howard and Jesus Cervantes.
