In Loving Memory of Emilia Espinosa Arciba

Our beautiful mother, Emilia Espinosa Arciba—our Mom, our protector, our heart—passed away surrounded by the very people she lived her life for: her four children, her beloved granddaughter, and her former husband, Martin Arciba. Even in her final moments, she held us together, just as she always had.

There are no words that could ever truly capture who our mom was to us. She was not just our mother—she was our home. She was the warmth we ran to, the voice that made everything feel okay, and the strength we leaned on when life felt too heavy. Her love was constant, unshakable, and unconditional.

She gave us everything she had—her time, her energy, her heart, her sacrifices—without ever asking for anything in return.

Emily was a dedicated educator and counselor for 40 years, earning her Master’s in Counseling, and a Proud Trojan. She poured her heart into her students and colleagues, guiding, mentoring, and uplifting everyone she encountered. Her work was not just a career—it was a calling, and her impact will be felt for generations.

Our mom was not only everything to us—she was a friend to all. Her kindness, her laughter, and her open heart touched so many lives. She had a way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and loved.

Every lesson she taught, every hug she gave, every word of encouragement… these are the pieces of her we will carry with us forever.

She leaves behind her children, who were her entire world and greatest purpose: Jessica Arciba, Martin Isaac Arciba, Allison Arciba, and Emily Monica Arciba. She also leaves behind her precious granddaughter, Journee Arciba, her baby—who brought her a kind of joy and light that only a grandmother could know.

Mom is now reunited with her parents, Helen R. Espinosa and Pete V. Espinosa Jr.

From Your Children & Baby Journee:

“Mom, losing you is the greatest heartbreak we will ever know. You were our light in every dark moment, our comfort in every storm, and our greatest blessing in this life. That light will never go out. We will carry you with us—in our hearts, in our choices, and in the way we love—until we are together again. We love you endlessly.”

Mom, you are our light that will never stop shining.
