Carolina "Lina" Gutierrez Lopez

Carolina “Lina” (Gutierrez) Lopez, 72, of Beeville, Texas passed away peacefully at 11:16 p.m. on May 13, 2026, in Corpus Christi surrounded by her loving family.

Lina was born in Pettus, Tx to Eugenio Gutierrez and Eloisa (Chavera) Gutierrez on October 29, 1953. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. James Catholic Church. Lina married Ernesto C. Lopez in Beeville on April 8, 1972. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, she enjoyed spending time with her family. In her pass time, she enjoyed gardening and going out dancing. She was a retired OR tech for Christus Sphon Hospital Beeville.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Eugenio Gutierrez Jr., Felipe Gutierrez, and Lydia Cantu.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Ernesto C. Lopez; her two daughters, Leticia Lopez Boynton (Jose A. Hinojosa), and Lisa Lopez (Robert Jr.) Barragan; sisters, Esther (Willie) Martinez, and Victoria Anna Gutierrez; grandchildren, Samantha Lopez (Baldomero “Trey”) Montez III, Mikayla D. Boynton Casarez, Zachary T. (Santana Luna) Boynton, Christiana A. (Barbie) Hinojosa, Brianna C. Gonzales, Jared Z. (Michael J. Keen) Gonzales, Tera Lee (Richard E.) Guartuche; great grandchildren, Nathan R. (Celeste) Lopez, Elliana I. (Jaden L. Conway) Lopez, Tyler R. Montez, Hunter C. Montez, Zayn G. Boynton, Damion K. Boynton, Liam J. Guartuche, Katrina L. Boynton, Coraline S. Boynton; great – great grandchildren, Adelina R. Lopez, Brayden J. Conway, and Mateo R. Lopez; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Angelus Funeral Home in Beeville with a rosary to be recited at 7 o’clock.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026, at St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Jacob Valayath officiating. Burial will follow at the Beeville Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert A. Barragan, Richard E. Guartuche, Jared Z. Gonzales, Zachary T. Boynton, Jose A. Hinojosa, Tyler R. Montez, Jaden Conway, and Baldomero “Trey” Montez.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Nathan R. Lopez, Guadalupe “Wally” Rodriguez, Michael J. Keen, and Joe Anthony Harms.
