With heavy hearts and deep love, we share the passing of Angelita M. (Hernandez) Campos, who was called home to be with the Lord on January 26, 2026, at the age of 77. Angelita was born on June 14, 1948, in Mineral, Texas, to Jose and Angelita Hernandez. She lived a life rooted in love, sacrifice and devotion to her family.
Angelita is now joyfully reunited in Heaven with those who went before her - her beloved parents, Jose and Angelita Hernandez; her brother, Joe R. Hernandez; her sister-in-law, Rafaela “Fela” Hernandez; her brother-in-law, Roger V. Cano; and her nephew, Robert Hernandez. While our hearts ache, we find comfort knowing she is surrounded by peace and eternal love.
Angelita leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her devoted partner of 45 years, Jose E. Camacho; her sister, Barbara Cano; her son, Joe Ray Campos; her daughters, Elodia (Campos) Arredondo (Marcus Arredondo), Arianne Campos and Brianne Campos; her grandchildren, Matthew Gonzales, Jacob Gonzales, Layton Grace Arredondo and Joshua Ray Campos; her precious great-grandchildren, Braileigh, Alexander, Chasidy, Cyrus and Jacob Jr.; her niece, Sandra Jean Gomez (Alfred Gomez); nephews, Roger V. Cano Jr. and Joe Richard Hernandez; along with many great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members and dear loved ones.
Angelita was the definition of a loving mother and Momo. She gave everything she had to her family, always putting others before herself. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she poured her heart into raising, guiding, protecting and loving them unconditionally.
She was the rock of the family - the glue that held everyone together. Her strength, wisdom and unconditional love created a home filled with warmth, comfort and belonging. Her presence could calm storms, heal hearts and bring people together.
Though she is no longer physically with us, her love will continue to live on in every life she touched. She will be deeply missed, forever loved and never forgotten.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2026, at Angelus Funeral Home with a memorial service at 2 o’clock.
