Alicia (Alaniz) Castillo, 72, a devoted housewife, mother and homemaker, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, at her home in Tynan, Texas, lovingly surrounded by her family.
Alicia was born April 3, 1953, in Sinton to Pioquinto and Virginia (Cortez) Alaniz. She married Ramiro Castillo in Tynan on September 3, 1972 and was of the Catholic faith. Known for her love of sewing and dancing, Alicia found immense joy in her hobbies and shared a passion for music through her admiration of La Mafia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pioquinto and Virginia Alaniz.
Left behind to cherish fond memories include her husband of 53 years, Ramiro Castillo of Tynan. A source of pride for Alicia were her two sons, Ramiro Castillo, Jr. and Leo Castillo, as well as her three daughters, Gabriela “Gaby” Navarrette, Felicia Castillo and Laura Castillo. In addition to her children, Alicia's legacy extends to her 15 cherished grandchildren: Michael, Christina, Naudiya, Alyiah, Dominic, Myah, Javier Jr., Nicholas, Edgardo Jr., Malaysia, Alaina, Audrey, Luciano, Devyn and Romeo, along with 14 great-grandchildren who brought joy to her heart.
Alicia was the beloved sister to Gracie Crier, Diana Love and Edith Castillo, and she also held a special place in her heart for her brother, Armando Alaniz.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, November 21, at Angelus Funeral Home in Beeville with a Rosary to be recited at 7 o'clock led by Deacon Roger Rosenbaum.
The funeral service will be conducted there at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 22, with Deacon Roger Rosenbaum officiating. Burial will follow at Waldheim Cemetery in Tynan.
Pallbearers will be Edgardo Anguiano, Jr., Daniel Castillo, Luciano Castillo, Jeffrey Castillo, Javier Navarrette, Jr. and Javier Navarrette, Sr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ramiro Castillo, Jr., Leo Castillo, Devyn Castillo and Romeo Castillo.
